Its Sunday afternoon...3 days from April 1st, and there is a good inch or 2 of snow outside. My first instinct is to complain...because usually the arrival of April means flowers and birds chirping, or even just rain for that matter...but as I look outside my window, I cant help but notice how beautiful it is. I love how the snow here always sticks to the trees and makes it look like frosting spread over everything...It really is a beautiful thing, even if it is horribly cold. I am determined to not complain about it anymore, even if I did already pack up my snow boots. Hopefully I can endure another couple days of this...as long as it doesnt turn into a couple more weeks of this :) haha I'm just eager for some color outside...but this is beautiful too...

kids say the darndest things!
It's so true...man i love my job. Yesterday working at the elementary school doing after school club I had 2 funny moments:
One of the first grade girls was talking about how her brother is in high school because he is 18 years old, and she thought it would be so cool to be in high school. She then asked me how old i was and if it's fun to be 18 years old. I asked her how old she thought I was and she said 18 because I seem to have a fun life. When I told her I was actually 20 and turning 21 in a few months she had a look of pure terror on her face! She ran over, gave me a big and and said "Oh no! Whitney, I wish you were zero!!" When I asked her why she said "Because if you were zero, you would have a longer life and not die so soon!"
I couldn't help but laugh at her concern for my life. It made me happy for sure.
The other instance was when the kids were in the gym playing. There were 3 or 4 younger kids that asked me to play on the "cruise ship" with them, me being a kid at heart said yes of course. It wasn't till like 10 minutes into this game of pretend cruise ship and swimming with sharks that one of the 5th grades girls came over an looked at me in disgust. I asked her what she needed and all she said was "I cant believe you are in college and doing this. Wow, you are a really immature older person."
hahaha I laughed for a good 20 minutes and continued on my "journey across the ocean." I sure do love my job. :)
