it doesn't get much better than this

i have so much to BLOG about! It's actually been stressing me out. So I figured I would start off with the BEST weekend everrrrrrrr. It seriously was fantastic and nothing could have made it better. First off:
HE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!
Elder Rogers got home on Wed Sept 23, so that weekend we got to whole group together and went to Merritts of course! It wouldnt be right if we hadn't. And it was fantastic! Just like the old time. haha Plus we randomly met the drummer for the Killers. Only at Merritts.

Oh how I missed these guys!

On Saturday my little bro performed and competed at the Celtic festival and Highland Games. It was so fun! He took 1st in both of his competitions and the whole day was just a blast!

He's the coolest kids I know. Its true.

then last but NOT least.
JASON MRAZ CAME TO SEE ME!!!
More like I went to see him, but let me think what I want okay?
So the whole night was great and I was in pure heaven.

He is a beautiful man.

I love him. so much. Words can not express.
I got a trusty Jason hat...to make me feel cool.
Happiness

This was definitely one of the BEST weekends of my life! It was sooooo hard to come back to school. Hopefully the semester continues to go fast fast fast!

comcast man! we need another DVR!

the great TV God that created DVR is a very wonderful man...or woman.
but the fact that you can only record 2 SHOWS at one time,
and cant even watch a 3rd is heart-wrenching.
it was chaotic tonight...trying to decide between 5 billion shows.
wow. harsh words were said. and tears were shed.
it was very intense.
thank heavens for internet
and a computer lab job.

one of those days

today was one of those days where i really just wanted to think.
i wish i had a porch swing or hammock that i could just break away to.
i wish i was by the beach where i could walk along the shore, throwing rocks in the water, and watch the waves take the sand out from under my feet.
i wish i could fly to some far of place and be totally out of my element.
i wish i could run away with my camera and try to view the world from a whole new perspective.
nothing bad happened today, i just really wanted to escape and ponder life's journey.

but i watched rigoletto and hercules instead.

music is what feelings sound life

I believe with all my heart, might, mind and soul that music is a healing power. Music can in so many ways bring joy and happiness,
I know it is truly a gift from God.

I'm so blessed to have music in my life.
I may not be very good at singing, or playing an instrument,
and all the theory stuff of music,

but I know the divine power music has over me,
and hearing wholesome and uplifting music to me is like feeling the Spirit.

Yesterday I was reminded of just how great of a power music is.
Craig Jessop spoke at Religion in Life yesterday.
He is like a celebrity to me...
I mean directing MOTAB for all those years? He rocks my world.
Well, At his devotional he spoke about the profound influence that music has had on his life, and how in turn that has influenced the lives of others.
He talked about his singing tour during the Vietnam and how they would sing to war victims and watch their eyes light up.
He talked about how his music has brought people unto the church, and how he the Spirit has been able to touch his life and the lives of others through the gift of music.
One thing he said that will stick with me was
"Music has the uniting power to transcend, it will unleash the heart and free the soul."
What a powerful statement.
What a remarkable devotional.

This same day I was able to hang out with Miss Sandra Dee
and my dear friend Amelia Bell.

We ordered pizza and watched The Soloist.
Fantastic movie.
Powerful. Beautiful.

I absolutely loved it. "Beauty is art; music is beauty."
I know just how great a power music is, but I hope I can someday help people find that power as well.

mmmmmm Mr. Thornton

I'm craving some Mr. Thornton right now...he is delicious.

I want to curl up in my blanket and watch 4 blissful hours of North and South...I hope to do exactly that this weekend. Hopefully Bonnie loves me enough to let me borrow it for a few days. Its exactly what I need after a week like this one.

topless cowboys?

this is an adventurous story that took place while working out at Planet Fitness yesterday.
planet fitness has around 10 TVs showing different channels.
on each machine there is a little box where you plug in your head phones and select which of the channels you want to watch.
I had finished watching the last 5 minutes of CSI so I started watching Dreamgirls on TV 8.
I had been watching Beyonce do her thing for about 30 minutes when I glance over to TV 5 for some reason or another, and see this:

scroll to 1:45 or you will see some naked bums...

So what do I do? I most DEFINITELY switch over to TV 5. I mean hello? Topless cowboys singing and dancing? Duh!

After the song ends, I realize what I had just done and just start laughing at myself!
Needless to say...I learned a lot about myself...and where my interests lie.

boo

do you ever have those moments where you just feel forgotten?
like the world just keeps going, and you cant find a way to run after it?
sometimes life just gets the best of you.
sometimes i feel like i put 100% into everything,
and only get back 10%
if any at all.
i hate when i realize that i have been used.
when i think life couldn't get any better,
and then there comes the hand to slap me across the face.
im sick of trying.
for putting everything into a relationship or friendship,
and being completely un-appreciated.
and totally forgotten.

sometimes i wish i could just go home.
where i dont have to work for someone to tell me they care.
where i just know that every single one of my family members
would drop any and everything if i needed them to.
where i can walk through a door,
be in complete chaos,
and feel the most love the world has to give.
i have realized that someone i thought was a kindred spirit,
could probably care less if i got hit by a bus.
at least that's the vibe i get.
it kinda bites.
