i lied.

i mentioned here that i wanted to change my blog layout... but i wouldnt.
well as you can see i lied.
im curled up in my bed with a pile of cough drops
pumped full of airborne
(thank heavens for that brilliant teacher)
and a bottle of echinacea and vitamin c close by
in hopes of kicking this cold in the bum.
amazing what spending only 5 days being in an elementary school can do to you.
so therefore i had a good excuse to change my blog layout.
i had the time
and it took just about all of the energy i had for the day.
so i hope everyone is having a glorious sunday!

and how grateful i am to have him as a brother.

summer

i have been putting this post off for sometime, simply because i do in fact love spring.

a lot. and im SOOOO grateful it is here
but its summer that im longing for.
i wish there was a way spring and summer could mix together, and we could avoid the flowers dying, and the temperatures in which we feel as if we are melting, but at the same time, i love it. the swimming, the no school, the air conditioner blasting, the sleeping in (sometimes) the warm summer nights, the free snow cones, the awesome summer concerts, the bbq's, the parades, and the living in boise.
i have been reminiscing of the following for quite some time now...
boy i hope summer comes soon:

my awesome job. with awesome people. and the weirdest and greatest campers ever.

visiting my bosom friends and going on stellar adventures....

and living this moment...it was my glorious closure to a fantastic summer. it was september, and summer was trying to hang on for as long as possible...this was in fact one of the happiest nights of my life :)

march 24th

when i woke up this morning i wasnt exactly thinking "good mornin, good mornin"
but i was thinking that this video was perfect for today.
call me a nerd
but being this is my #2 favorite movie
i remember weird things like this.

list of thoughts. in no particular order

1. first grade is not my calling in life. 2nd-5th is. at least that is after spending 2 days

in the 1st grade...maybe that will change...but maybe not.

2. i want to redo my blog design. i wont because i do it too often. but im just putting it out there.

3. i just finished the nicholas sparks book "the last song" and it was amazing. judge me if you want...but im excited for the movie

4. i'm currently at work copying every episode of the magic school bus, bill nye the science guy, arthur, and reading rainbow onto my external hard drive. i feel awesome.

5. i still feel cool when i eat lunch in the teachers lounge.

6. im now reading "the hunger games" by suzanne collins. only 21 pages in and its so intense i dont think i blinnked.

7. the herald journal did a presentation at the school today. they showed the students their website and all the cool things that they can learn from the news. when a picture of aggie basketball popped up, they literally screamed at the top of their lungs. it filled me with joy.

8. kassie is already collecting rocks to paint this summer at camp...she is my hero.

9. april is going to be a BUSY month. (and im going to be out of town almost every weekend! goodness.)

10. i will never have to pay for music again. the amazing things you learn working in a computer lab.

11. i have always hated purple. i fear i am now obsessed, and have bought 4 purple shirts and a purple purse in the past couple months. who knew.

12. if one more person announces they are engaged or pregnant this month...a definite congratulations!, but seriously? im feeling like a minority.

13. health care. there are pros and cons to everything. including this. i vote people should research before they voice an opinion. thats all im going to say.

14. i want to watch HSM3, and new moon...deal with it

15. i saw the man of my dreams yesterday. twice. once at smiths then at subway 20 minutes later. i think its meant to be. too bad i just stared at him and stood there gaping at his beauty the entire time.

16. finished alma. i mean i have several times before, but its always a feeling of accomplishment if you ask me.

17. i keep adding to my bucketlist. i should probably start attempting to cross some off

18. i had a dream in black and white last week. i didnt realize it was in black and white until a couple days later...now i realize thats a 1st for me.

19. i think thats all for now. this is probably a really stupid post. but thats just how my brain was working today...

BFF teachers

today was the LAST DAY OF CLASSES!!!

it was exceptional.
people brought cookies and donuts,
and we didn't pay attention to one ounce of the math lesson
its quite exciting...

its a pretty big deal to have survived level 3 without ripping out my hair
or slitting my own throat
(OR ripping and slitting the hair and throats of others for that matter)
so i find it cause for celebration.
its true that after spring break i start practicum
and will in fact be BUSIER than i have been
but still...im taking this one day at a time,
and for now i celebrate.
it will be nice to not have to see some people...
actually it will be
the greatest blessing ever
to not have to see some people for 8 hours a day.
but i will miss some of fellow level 3's.
we did create our facebook group so we can communicate regularly
and we decided on having 'weekly meetings' so we can see each other
the best plan of all came during the previous mentioned math class...
jodi, makenna, cari, and i decided that after student teaching,
we are all moving to snowflake, arizona



(...we are going to drag amanda and gwen there with us
but they don't know this yet)
we will be getting jobs in the same school
and moving into a neighborhood where our four houses will connect in the backyard.
all of our children will frolick in the backyard together
we will have a swimming pool, fire pit, and a deck for BBQ's
we will share lesson plans,
and a cricut cutter so we can create the greatest bulletin boards and activities the state of arizona has ever seen.
and we will live happily ever after.
until we are old and crazy

its a plan.
makenna and i just have to find husbands first...
but it will happen!

today is good

today has been a good day

and im not really sure why
i mean i know i dont have to a have a reason for the day to be good
but with how my semester has been going,
i usually have to find my reasons for happiness (hence my other blog)
but today has just been one of those days that i woke up and i smiled
it could be the fact that i had no classes and got to sleep in
it could be the fact that the sun was shining and there was less snow on the ground
it could be that the birds were chirping
it could be that i stayed in my PJ's till 1 in the afternoon
it could be that i became friends with the duo at mormon bachelor pad and they challenged me to an arm wrestle
it could be that i just read Skippyjon Jones for the 50th time this weekend and topped it off with Officer Buckle and Gloria
it could be that i am so on top of it, i have hardly any homework to accomplish tonight
it could be that we included a picture of our prof in our powerpoint presentation today
it could be that yesterday was sunday and church was wonderful
it could be that gwen was playing cello suite no. 1 this morning and i could hear it through the walls
it could be that my computer has been bombarded with the itunes virus, but im willing to accept that
it could be that the return of mr shuester is only 43 days away
it could be the fact that i won an eiffel tower t-shirt for only .49 cents
it could be a number of things
