i laugh. because its funny!
i dont understand how people dont laugh,
WHEN SOMETHING IS FUNNY!
i guess i am just a VERY easily entertained person.
actually i KNOW i am a very easily entertained person...
i will laugh at the stupidest things, simply because i ACTUALLY find them hilarious.
all i am saying is the movie When in Rome is hilarious
i laughed a lot.
i mean, a lot a lot.
it was just soooo great.
a bit cheesy, and definitely some really dumb parts
but i just thought it was adorable
and Amelia, Melissa and I just laughed our way through the WHOLE thing.
people probably stared and were most likely annoyed at us,
but i dont care
cause i bet you a million dollars i had a much better time
than ANY of them did.
:)

with like...a real job
2 days ago was my half birthday...
and in 6 months i will be 22
just randomly thought about that.
but it is a strange thought really.
cause soon after that i have to be a "real" "grown-up"
not just "grown up livin on my own"
but a REAL grown up
with like...a real job
:S
this is so weird to me
especially this semester where we have been non-stop talking
about our strategies as teachers
and where i have started planning out my entire 1st day of school schedule
this is just strange!
i have been a student since i was 6 years old
and now i have to be the TEACHER
oh brother
im in for an adventure!
good thing i love what im doing!
seriously
just randomly thought about that.

what do you want to do before you die?
my project for the year has been to find things that make me happy.
i also have made the goal to work at my bucket list
and accomplish things that bring me joy
and that i can be proud of further down the road.
so i find it quite interesting that Amelia and I just
happened to come across this show on mtv.
i mean how fantastic is this?
4 kids traveling across the country
in a big purple bus, named penelope,
crossing off 100 things they want to do before they die
and the best part is that for every thing they cross off their list,
they help some random stranger cross an item off of theirs.
now thats just inspiring...
this week on their list was to give a toast at a strangers wedding...
holy funny :)
and then they found a street artist and asked him what he wants to do before he dies
this man said that he hadnt seen his son in 17 years
so the boys set out to find him.
seriously so amazing
i was in tears,
here is the follow up story.
ahhh, how great is this show?!

this inspired me..
this is jason mraz's latest blog post on facebook...call me a nerd, but i love what he has to say. i dont always agree with his "worldly views" but his posts always make me step back and think about what i belive in and what i find important in my life. This post is just great...think about what he has to say on this, the 25th of January 2010...
"I admit it. I am Twitterly Challenged. It is all too often I view the Twitter world forum as a streaming version of a bathroom wall – a place to pee, see, and share; a place of clever poetry, shout-outs, offers, introductions and slams. This kind of mentality doesn’t get me very far and my drivel is reduced to just that – toilet humor.
So I am constantly reinventing it as a medium in which to share resourceful, inspiring and/or humorous ideas. I make-up that it can be a condensed version of a TED conference if we choose it, and yet I also make-up in my mind that the majority of Twitterers post but don’t actually peruse. I make that up because I am one of those people. Indeed, Twitter is my men’s room wall and in 140 spaces or less, I place my Sharpee where my spirit is and seldom look back. God Bless all those who read it – who need it or not – And I pray you have a nice day.
Yesterday I Twitted – twittered – tweeted (which reminds me – I wish this powerful means of connection had been given a cooler name… like Stall Street Journal or something more suitable and snooze-able) So yesterday in the Stall Street Journal I wrote a few of my perspectives on the Snooze Button – that device which offers a 2% chance of returning to your dreams and a 98% chance of non-fulfillment on your real ones. This morning as I hit the snooze alarm again, I got present to what it really is: a Procrastination Button.
If you’re like me and you set the alarm an hour early because you know you’re going to hit the snooze and sleep longer – I invite you to explore where else in your life that mentality shows up for you. Do you put off doing projects until the last minute? Do you often oversleep your project deadlines? Are your dreams altered by your scattered attention to more than one reality? Do you blame the alarm clock for not performing its function successfully? Who else do you blame?
Wake up and smell your finger.
It’s Monday - The perfect day to make bold new declarations - The best week ever to check in on your New Year’s Resolutions and Commitments. What else could you take on this week to make your life and the life of others Great?

SHOCKED? ya, so am i. i mean come on. morning time? pshh.
but i AM getting credit for my minor with this class but thats not why i am taking it this semester. i had it all worked out to take online over the summer, no sweat. but that wouldnt have been worth it.
why you ask?
because its a musical theater class....
taught by michael ballam.
i mean COME ON.
(if you have no idea who he is, dont tell me cause i will cry)
it was hard the 1st week because he was "away" on "university business" (whatever that means) so we watched previously recorded lectures on video...*snooze*
BUT he taught the full class period today, and let me just say that it was the best way to start out my morning. there is nothing greater than starting the morning discussing the wide spectrum of PURE GREATNESS called showtunes, like defying gravity, and give my regards to broadway then Oh, Promise Me and countless others (believe me you want me to stop there)
that man has an endless supply of wisdom and talent...i just cant get over it.
best class ever.
and let me just say, i LOVE the textbook.

values.com
if you have never been to values.com you should totally check it out.
for my ELED social studies class we were asked to create billboard
for someone that we find inspirational
i chose to do Corrie ten Boom
the "Hiding Place" has always been one of my all time favorite books
and i believe it is a book that everyone should read
Corrie was such an amazing person
with such an amazing story
and i strive to have just an ounce of the faith and courage that that she did

things i learned over christmas break
- apparently the leftover and rotten food in the fridge is called "junky crunk"
- the purpose of a cows udders may be confusing
- gretchen has a butt fetish
- samuel feels exposed if his neck is showing
- christmas carols are MUCH more fun sung opera style in the car
- samuel has a higher range than i do
- gretchen dreams of calling delila and making up a sappy story...maybe about lula, whos blind daughter besy wants to meet billy ray cyrus...just an idea
- summer sausage is delicious, but can be the source of an awkward conversation
- when samuel blows his nose, he may light the house on fire
- growing up really does suck sometimes
- i really cant stand slow computers
- apparently samuels life goal is to be the first king/lawyer/CSI/astronaut/surgeon/bagpiper with a mustache on the moon
- i can never live far away from my family
- chicken helen says "oh my garsh"
- fruitcake does not make an ideal christmas present...especially 2 years in a row
- im way too spoiled
- i have the bestttttttt family

bouquets of freshly sharpened pencils
i love that first days of school come twice a year in college.
i love new beginnings
and buying new school supplies.
it makes me think of boquets of freshly sharpened pencils
and the smell of chalk dust.
i was obviously destined to be a teacher
if these kinds of things excite me.
needless to say, today was kind of a lame first day of school
probably because i have no monday classes
i just had a meeting for ELED where i signed my life away
vowing to have no life other than school
and more school.
it will indeed be an interesting semester
full of projects and children
and teaching and no sleeping
but thats okay.
it shall be worth it.
someday
heres to school
pencils
and no social life
until may.
cheers

seriously? like really?
its really not a big deal.
i mean, she is doing me a favor
but is that what you ask of a friend?
convenience?
money?
my definition of friendship is much different
i guess everyone has their own ways
im just still trying to figure out hers.

i dont know what my deal is,
but i have been really emotional lately.
i cried during some commercial the other day
and pretty sure my family just laughed at me
here is one thing i saw today and just about lost it
then hearing samuel play amazing grace on the pipes yesterday
made me wail like a baby
and dont even get me started on the premier of biggest loser today
why do i watch that show?
i always look like an idiot sobbing to no end
oh well. i guess i will just go on being a cry baby, cause i cant help it one bit

blind side
Cello Song by: The Books
Strange face, with your eyes
So pale and sincere
Underneath, you know well
You have nothing to fear
For the dreams that came to you
when you were young
Told of a life where spring has sprung
You would seem so frail
In the cold of the night
When the armies of emotion
Go out to fight
But while the earth
Sinks to its grave
You sail to the sky
On the crest of a wave
So forget this cruel world
Where I belong
Ill just sit and wait
And sing my song
And if one day
you should see me in the crowd
Lend a hand and lift me
To your place in the cloud
Strange face, with your eyes
So pale and sincere
Underneath, you know well
You have nothing to fear
For the dreams that came to you
when you were young
Told of a life where spring has sprung
You would seem so frail
In the cold of the night
When the armies of emotion
Go out to fight
But while the earth
Sinks to its grave
You sail to the sky
On the crest of a wave
So forget this cruel world
Where I belong
Ill just sit and wait
And sing my song
And if one day
you should see me in the crowd
Lend a hand and lift me
To your place in the cloud
definitely one of the best movies i have seen in a long time
phenomenal story with such a powerful message

its a new day, its a new year
"the only life worth living is one that you are really passionate about."
-emma pillsbury
-emma pillsbury
i thought i would be like everyone else and about the upcoming new year.
all i have to say is that i am not making any new years resolutions.
why you ask?
well, because im perfect of course...
NOT
actually im far from it.
the reason is because we all know that new years resolutions always look really good on paper
or in your mind
but rarely do people reach those resolutions
(im just as guilty as the next person)
so instead of a couple of goals that will be forgot in the bustle of everyday life,
im just going to work on one thing
and that is to be happy.
i just want to work towards being happy in every sense of the word
emotionally, spiritually, physically, etc etc
i want to be passionate about life again
and find the real me
i want to find joy in the little things
instead of living day to day
and rushing towards the finish line
i need to enjoy the journey
and learn from the stumbles along the way
i want to work at my bucket list
and always add on to it
i want to love life, and feel good about myself.
i do have high hopes the new year
and know that its up to me
to make this a killer year.
bring it. bring it on.

p.s i had this song running through my head as i typed this post
theme song 2010?
its quite possible
p.s...again...i spent new years eve with my aunts and cousins watching enchanted.
haha then got pulled over on the way home for expired registration (moms car, not mine)
he asked me how much i had been drinking
i almost busted out laughing hysterically
really?
seriously mr police man?
